Drive an assigned fiber route on a recurring basis — this is a route-based role with substantial daily windshield time, so comfort with long stretches of driving is a must. Visit and monitor existing fiber routes, watching for anything that could put the line at risk. Review and reference 811 locate tickets, along with maps and prints, to stay ahead of nearby digging and construction activity. Offer first-level support when minor issues come up, and work to mitigate potential failure points before they escalate. Log and escalate any changes in infrastructure or conditions along the route. Report to the field to verify the quality, accuracy, and adherence of work performed under our scope of work (SOW).
