Job Title: Upholstery Setup Technician (Seating Manufacturing) Location: High Point, North Carolina Job Summary: DARRAN, a leading manufacturer of high-quality furniture located in High Point, NC, is seeking a skilled and versatile Upholstery Setup Technician to join our Seating Manufacturing Plant. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing furniture frames for upholstery by installing webbing and spring systems, as well as performing setup tasks within the upholstery department to ensure efficient and high-quality production of our seating products. Responsibilities: Webbing and Spring System Installation: Receive and inspect furniture frames to ensure they meet quality standards and are ready for web up and spring up processes. Interpret work orders and specifications to determine the correct placement and configuration of webbing and springs. Measure and cut webbing to the required lengths. Utilize hand tools and pneumatic staple guns to securely attach webbing to the furniture frames, ensuring proper tension and spacing. Apply knowledge of different webbing types and their appropriate applications. Position and secure springs to the frames according to specified patterns and densities. Utilize spring clips, ties, and other fastening materials to ensure springs are properly supported and will provide optimal comfort and durability. May involve hand-tying springs in some applications. Inspect completed web and spring systems to ensure they are correctly installed, secure, and meet quality standards. Upholstery Setup Duties: Review work orders and gather necessary materials (fabric, leather, vinyl, welts, etc.) for upcoming upholstery tasks. Prepare workstations with required tools, equipment (e.g., staple guns, sewing machines), and materials to ensure efficient workflow for upholsterers. Organize and stage materials in a manner that is easily accessible to the upholstery team. Assist in the setup and adjustment of upholstery machinery as needed. Ensure that the correct patterns and templates are available for each upholstery job. Communicate with upholsterers regarding material availability and any specific setup requirements. Maintain a clean and organized upholstery setup area. Quality Control and Safety: Ensure that all web up, spring up, and setup tasks are performed to meet DARRAN’s quality standards. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Maintain and safely operate all necessary hand tools and pneumatic equipment. Qualifications: Proven experience in web up and spring up for furniture manufacturing, preferably in seating. Familiarity with basic upholstery processes and materials. WORK SHIFT: Third Shift (United States of America) Our NC facility is temperature-controlled by HVAC. JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY This hands-on position will supervise and direct all levels of Injection Process Technicians and any persons in contact with injection molds and molding process. This position is responsible for mold changes (scheduling staff), mold process control, mold change component inventory, productivity, part quality, safety, cleanliness and organization. He/she must be able to review the daily production schedule and set priorities based on customer requirements and resources available. He/she must be able to coordinate activities with various positions and personnel in the injection molding department as well as with supporting department personnel to accomplish specific assigned goals and objectives. He/she will also be the key trainer for all new technicians in the use and setup of injection molding machines and automation. He/she will assume the role of Shift Manager in his absence including reporting to Plant Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Hands-on supervision (will supervise and assist with all aspect of molding). Supervisory responsibility for employees assigned to his/her area. Works effectively as a member of a team and also autonomously, often in a supervisory role. Willing to learn and adapt to new methods, procedures, principles, disciplines goals and objectives. Leads, trains, assist in identifying equipment and motivate personnel as required. Complete the duties of an area supervisor specified by Cambro’s operating structure, including but not limited to (reporting, review, MOS procedures, disciplinary write-up, training and training and time studies). Set-up, start-up, processing, statistical process control, robotics, automation and process troubleshooting of various types of thermoplastic injection molds, machines and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products.
