Production Line Lead Role Overview Ensures that all production machinery is operated in a safe and efficient manner. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Operates production machinery as required. Monitors equipment for proper operation, changes equipment as required, and informs maintenance mechanics of any mechanical problems. Serves as first level of defense for production floor problem solving, before escalating to Supervisor. Communicates to Supervisor any production floor issues. Acts as back-up for Production Technicians. Serves as a resource for production technicians to resolve questions and technical issues. Oversees production line operations during absence of Production Supervisor. Understands and follows PQI standards. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications A High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) years of related field experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment preferred. Forklift experience preferred. Mechanical ability, manual dexterity, physical stamina and reading comprehension skills required. Must demonstrate time management, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to use a personal computer for data entry. Must be able to successfully complete the forklift certification. Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks. Principal Duties (additional duties may be assigned) 1. Set up the extruder line. 2. Calculate the scale factor for the SKU to be run. 3. Change the extruder width if needed. 4. Monitor the width and scale weight closely. 5. Monitor slab, feed band and rework rolls being fed into the hopper. Record mix information into the “Extruder in program” each time a new pallet is started. 6. Perform checks called out on measurements in the Extruder data Collection program at start up. 7. Check the extrusion temperature as soon as rubber exits extruder. 8. Operate the extruder to quality extrusions of the scheduled size and type. 2. Sample and measure precure as required. 3. Weigh, label and palletize precure as required. 4. Maintain high state of cleanliness in the dip tank and roll-up areas of the extrusion line. 5. Assist in maintaining the dip solutions whenever required. Rework 6. Load Rework rolls onto the rework bar using a hoist. 7. Load rolls so the extrusion end pulls off from top of the roll into the extruder. 8. Pull prep roll up to the hopper and feed the roll into the hopper until the screw starts pulling the roll into the extruder. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate assigned production equipment including: Depalletizer Capper Palletizer Perform equipment startup, shutdown, and basic troubleshooting.
