Your day running the press Step onto the production floor at Genesis Products and take command of a high-throughput lamination press line. You review the day’s run sequence, configure the machine for the first job, and verify that all materials are staged so the line stays fed. With each cycle, you balance speed and precision—targeting maximum output with minimal downtime while protecting quality grades. You coordinate closely with the inspector, coach them on what to look for, and provide coverage when needed. Throughout the shift, you keep the area spotless: no broken boards under or around the press, nothing leaning on press gates, no paper hanging beneath the press, pits and staging tables clear of tickets, paper, or wood chips; consoles wiped down; dust blown off; and photo eyes cleaned regularly. Issues? You act fast—flagging paper quality to the paper room supervisor and raw board concerns to the scheduler so purchasing can address it, and reporting any equipment problems to Maintenance while documenting the details. Between runs, you track the story of production in the logbook—recording 1sts, 2nds, 3rds; temperatures, pressures, and cycle times; a full account of downtime; plus any paper loss or damage. When schedules shift, you secure approvals before deviating, then reset the press and keep the line loaded for the next job. About Genesis Products We’re a fast-paced, rapidly growing manufacturer where people power our success. Our culture is dynamic, rewarding, and positive—and we’re building a team that grows together. What you'll do Run the lamination press to achieve maximum production and minimal downtime while meeting quality grade targets. Set up the machine for each scheduled run; obtain approval before making any schedule changes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (no broken boards near the press, nothing against gates, no paper hanging, pits/tables free of tickets/paper/wood chips; consoles wiped; dust removed; photo eyes cleaned regularly). Keep the line loaded with the correct materials for each job. Escalate material issues: notify the paper room supervisor about paper concerns and the scheduler about raw board issues (for purchasing follow-up). Partner with the inspector to verify finished board quality; train, communicate with, supervise, and provide relief for the inspector as needed. Accurately log 1sts/2nds/3rds, temperature, pressure, cycle times, downtime, and paper loss/damage. Alert Maintenance immediately to mechanical problems and document them in the logbook. What you bring Lamination machine operation: set up, operate, and troubleshoot lamination press equipment for smooth runs. Quality assurance: verify output against company standards and customer specifications. Mechanical aptitude: recognize maintenance needs and report them promptly. Production process knowledge: familiarity with wood processing/manufacturing flows and schedule adherence. Attention to detail: monitor temperature, pressure, and cycle times; keep precise records. Safety mindset: follow safety protocols and uphold strict cleanliness. Team collaboration: train, supervise, and communicate effectively with inspectors and peers. Physical stamina: stand for long periods, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced setting. Problem-solving: respond quickly to material or equipment issues to reduce downtime. Basic computer skills: use systems for logging and interdepartmental communication. Rewards and growth $1,000 onboarding bonus within your first year $350 referral bonus Weekly performance bonus Competitive pay Opportunities of advancement through our manufacturing careers program Anniversary and tenure bonus paid yearly Health, vision, dental, and life benefits Immediate participation in our company’s 401k program & employer match after 6 months of employment Paid time off and paid holidays We are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
