Position Summary The Manager of Security is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position reporting directly to the Director of Security and working closely with the Director of Operations. This position interacts regularly with Captains, First Officers, the Manager of Flight Operations Training, airport personnel, regulatory agencies, and third-party security vendors supporting Eastern Airlines operations. The Manager of Security is responsible for providing the leadership, oversight, and administration necessary to ensure that all employees, contractors, and vendors understand and comply with security-related responsibilities in accordance with regulatory requirements and Eastern Airlines' security objectives. The position serves as the Company's alternate Airport Operations Security Coordinator (AOSC), oversees the Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) program, and supports Transportation Security Administration (TSA) audits and security compliance initiatives as assigned by the Director of Security. The Manager of Security plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of Eastern Airlines' domestic and international operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the Company's Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) program and assist with training as necessary. Work closely with Human Resources to ensure the Known Crewmember (KCM) database remains accurate and current. Develop, administer, and manage security training programs for all employees, contractors, and vendors. Participate in new hire orientation programs to communicate Eastern Airlines' security policies, procedures, and expectations. Serve as the alternate Airport Operations Security Coordinator (AOSC) when the Director of Security is unavailable. Respond to inquiries from the FAA, TSA, airport authorities, and other regulatory agencies as required. Work directly with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the conduct of audits, inspections, and security-related investigations. Manage the Company's participation in obtaining Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badges and other airport credentials for employees and contractors. Administer the issuance of Company identification badges and Flight Crew credentials. Oversee and manage flight manifest data within MIS Choice to ensure compliance with FAA, DOT, TSA, and Company requirements. Issue required TSA notifications and serve as the Company's point of contact regarding charter security requirements. Partner with the Training Department to ensure all security training is properly documented and that initial and recurrent training requirements are met. Conduct security audits, investigations, assessments, and corrective action reviews as required. Maintain and update security policies, procedures, manuals, and related documentation. Coordinate with airport authorities, vendors, law enforcement agencies, and operational departments to support secure airline operations. Remain available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as necessary to address security concerns, answer security-related questions, and lead security incident response activities when the Director of Security is unavailable. Prepare reports, compliance documentation, presentations, and operational metrics for senior leadership and regulatory agencies. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Detailed knowledge and understanding of security training requirements applicable to flight crews, airport personnel, and employees as required by FAA, DOT, TSA, and Company regulations. Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Aviation Management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Education, or a related field preferred. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Three (3) or more years of experience working in a Flight Operations and/or Airport Operations environment utilizing large turbine aircraft is required; international operations experience preferred. Results-oriented professional with the ability to balance diverse and dynamic operational requirements. Prior experience in law enforcement, aviation security, military, or a related discipline is preferred. Demonstrated ability to conduct regulatory audits, investigations, and compliance reviews. Ability to obtain and maintain all required airport credentials, security clearances, and badges. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to communicate effectively through written, verbal, and electronic means. Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
